We are travellers. We met teaching English in Indonesia and grew a friendship while we traveled the Indonesia acrhipelago. For the moment, we are travellers staying still and keeping busy so that we don’t go stir-crazy. We never intended to start our own business… that’s just what happens when hobbies and passion converge! Our business has grown since the time we toyed around with the idea while driving back from Arizona in the fall of 2005. We didn’t have any grand intentions of becoming our own business when we were daydreaming about how to make the most of our hobbies. Our flagship service, Weathervane Images, was started by my husband, Lee Corkett; the WV Images website has seen many facelifts as his photography portfolio grew and grew… from landscapes to product to portraits to fine art! There is much to see and be in awed by at http://weathervaneimages.com !
“Weathervane Dance” came naturally when I started teaching bellydance in 2007 and has certainly outgrown it’s elementary, HTML appearance. For now however, it does the trick – http://weathervanedance.com .
Then we started to really break out.
Haflas, dance and music workshops, jewelry trees, freelance graphic design and marketing, woodworking, Featherettes?! Yes, as you can see, we needed a name by which to capture all of our talents and services. What else besides Weathervane Arts? And so without trying, we arrived at Square 1 three years after we started. However, while we pull our new website together (http://weathervanearts.com) that will embody everything we do, we’re happy to join the social, tech-savvy folks and start our own blog.
Warmly,
Gigi and Lee Corkett
